BUDHAKHOLA

IT IS AN ANCIENT MOUNTAIN WHICH IS LOCATED AT NEAR MY HOMETOWN BUGUDA.

BUDHAKHOLA - AT A GLANCE

BUDHAKHOL an ancient monument conserved by archeological survey of INDIA, has its historical importance as budhist shrine. from 1909.

The place was mixed up with SHIVA culture by adi sankaraachary in 6th century. It is a famous picnic spot on an adventurious hilltop with a lively water fall & perinal stream of ayurvedic value.

Here SRI GANGADHARA, SRI JAGADISWAR, SRI MAKARESWAR, SRI BUDHESWAR & SRI SIDHESWAR SWAMI ARE WORSHIPED.

The old temples were built in "REKHA" style during 9th century when LORD SHIVA was accepted as SURYANEUSINHA. It is also said that, poet upendra bhanja was conferred "KABISAMRAT" title at this place by "GAJAPATI".

During the time of KARTIKA PURNIMA(A festival), SIVARATAR(also a festival) & Sankranti this place is visited by large number of piligrims. Also in winter season it is favoured for the picnic spot for a lots of people. A large number of people visit by that time.

It is a rare combination of educational, historical, mythical, spiritual & natural tourist spot in GANJAM DISTRICT, ODISHA, INDIA.
